LED Television: The Next Generation In Flat Screen Technology
It was not too long ago that we were arguing the case for and against LCD and plasma televisions. And though LCD TV eventually came out the victor, due to its superior all round function and practicality, its crown is now under threat. That this threat comes from its sibling the LED television, is all the more intriguing.
Initially of course, it may seem just another way for the major players in the world of TV screens to get their hands on more of our hard earned money. But it is more than this; it is a step forward and the benefits to be had are far reaching.
Essentially, LED television, (light emitting diode), technology is no different to that already seen with their LCD televisions. It is simply another way of lighting the screen itself. Simply put, an LED television creates an image using back lighting, (or side lighting), from the diodes within the unit, as opposed to relying on liquid crystal displays to produce the same effect.
Having the lights set up in this way allows for greater control of the picture; lights can be dimmed and brightened independently of their neighbours; creating a richer content and feel and most important of all, creating true image black scale; they key to picture quality.
This is all fantastic of course, but what are the downsides to LED television technology? Increased power? Short Lifespan? Surprisingly, the opposite of each of these is true. The technology use less energy and, just as importantly uses this energy well with minimal wastage, which in itself drives up how long the TV itself will last for. Indeed, estimates suggest they could go on indefinitely if looked after well.
The depth of the TVs is also thinner than what is presently available. Amazing as this may sound, it is quite true. The depth of LCD and plasmas are presently given in inches, an LED television will be measured in millimetres; with somewhere around 9 or 10 being the standard, though screens of just 6mm are available now.
Okay, this all sounds excellent but of course, it isn’t all good news. Whilst no limitations exist to the operation of an LED television, there is a limitation regards affordability. It is really no different to the large prices that LCD and most particularly plasmas were tagged with though.
In summary then LED TVs are just a natural progression from LCDs. It gives us better pictures, less operating costs and space saving abilities. The prices are really the only issue presently.
However, as with any new concept, the price will be high initially, to pay for investment that the manufactures have had to spend on research and development. The price of an LED television may be out of the reach of many for the time being, but over the next few years this will come down to realistic levels. Just in time for the next advance probably!

Want To Get The Real Picture? Switch To LED Televisions
If you’re shopping for high definition televisions, then you will repeatedly come across something called LED television. LED televisions have become very popular and are experiencing great success in electrical market. The attraction of consumers towards the LED TV is due to the improvements in picture quality. Watching your favourite programs on high definition LED televisions is a feeling that you should experience.
The use of LED’s was developed to enrich the color and to enhance the clarity of the viewing images. Once the technology was perfected and LED’s were introduced to large scale production of LED televisions, their popularity rocketed in a short space of time. The special feature of the LED is that it is able to direct light in one single path or direction. This feature is absent in most of the other incandescent and fluorescent lights.
Similar to the LED TV we also have LCD televisions. Both the LED and the LCD television function similar to one another, however the fundamental difference between them is that to light the televisions display, LEDs are used instead of the fluorescent lamps used in conventional LCD televisions. The LED television utilizes LEDs to light the display in one of two ways. Firstly when the LED are used in the edge of the television screen it is called an edge-lit LED television and if it is present behind the television then it is called a back-lit LED television.
LED televisions are more accurately described as an LED lit LCD TV as they still have an LCD panel, it is just the method of lighting that varies. Some related advertisements have been criticized by advertising authorities as being misleading resulting in clarification of advertisements relating to LED TVs.
The use of LED technology has slightly varied the viewing facility. The screen size of an LED television is ranges from about 40 inches and upwards. So when you compare with other televisions this is high, however the depth of the television is very thin. Compared to back lit television the edge lit televisions are much slimmer and not as thick as previous LCD TVs.
Purchasing LED TVs with their improved range of color and quality is reflected in the cost of the television. People are buying LED TVs in spite of its high cost only because of the intensity in the picture quality it gives them when watching an action film, BluRay discs or the latest games consoles. Another advantage of the LED television is that, it reduces the power consumption by almost 40 percent.
When you have a decision to make between LED, LCD and plasma televisions, LED televisions have to be a serious contender because of all the benefits that they have. The LED television has high definition picture quality, natural colours, high contrast levels all coupled with low power consumption ratings.
Up to this point various manufacturers have televisions which incorporate LEDs in their design on the market. Sony, Samsung, Philips and JVC produce such TV sets. They all benefit from better picture quality, slimmer designs and better power consumption, so get yourself down to a TV showroom to see the improvements for yourself.

My Treasured iPhone Games
I’ve had my iPhone for over a year now, and I love the apps on the phone. There’s no better way for me to pass the time now, whether I’m riding on the train or waiting for an appointment to begin.
The library of games available for download continues to grow, and each month I see some great new additions to the list. By the time you read this article, I’ll probably have moved on to some more great iPhone games. Either way, these are some games that are definitely worth checking out. I’m going to give you three that I think you’ll enjoy.
First on my list is a game called paper toss. Maybe you’ve seen it in the top downloads section. If you haven’t downloaded it, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. If you’ve ever thrown a crumpled piece of paper into a garbage from your desk chair, it’s just like that.
What makes the game hard is the fact that a fan influences the direction of your paper toss, making it harder to get it into the garbage with each level. This makes it a lot of fun as you try to build a streak.
2. ESPN’s Cameraman. This is a great game that’s just like the photo hunt game you’ve probably played in bars. Playing against a timer, you must recognize the differences in two pictures before the timer runs out. It’s incredibly fun.
This game might keep me occupied more than any other. Sometimes I’ll sit down for hours at a time with this game.
If you like word games, you definitely need to get Scramble, which is also a free game. It’s just like Boggle, except you’ll be able to play against a ton of people at the same time, all of them having the same board as you. It’s a lot of fun to see where you end up ranking when all is said and done.
Try these out if you’re looking for new games!

Video MP3 Players - How Do I Decide On One Of Them?
There are a ton of Video MP3 Players out there. You will be able to view videos whenever you like. They are quite compact and fun to use and they are quite powerful as well.
There are a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and a huge amount of features too long to list here. But, it is safe to safe if you can think it, they can do it. ![]()
Ok, I’ll talk about the features so you are informed. You need to pay attention to the size of it’s memory and if it is solid state unit meaning it has no hard drive built into it and only has memory. But, if it has a hard drive you need to pay attention to the storage size.
Regardless if it has a hard drive or memory for the song storage they basically do they same thing. So, if you have a 1GB of memory on one unit the next unit may have a 1GB hard drive.
But, the higher the amount of your storage the great amount of songs, videos and images you can put on it. If your unit is a little 4GB unit you will easily be able to put thousands of audio files, videos and images too.
But of course there are much bigger sizes as well that range from 16GB to 80GB or 120GB for storage of your videos, music, photo’s and more. If you are one who plans on having 10,000+ songs, thousands of videos, pictures and more then I am sure these units will serve you nicely.
I just am disappointed when I notice people who plan on having like 500 or less MP3’s on there unit and some videos and images go and buy a unit that is meant for a power user like I mentioned above. What they really need is a smaller unit like the 4GB units or around there in storage size.
But again, like I mentioned, if you must have ten’s of thousands of MP3’s, video’s and photo’s, images and other files at your fingertips then these much bigger units are for you. You will have to pay more for this privilege but it will be worth it to you I am sure.

The New Samsung LN46B650
Allow me to introduce to you the new Samsung LN45B650 HDTV! This particular Samsung model is a great HDTV investment. It offers great picture quality with 1080p High Definition Resolution. Every detail on screen is razor sharp and with a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio the colors are excellent. The images are as realistic as they come with Samsung’s ‘Wide Color Enhancer 3 Technology’ which is aimed at rendering the colors more naturally.
Avoiding the common LCD problems easily, such as image judder and motion blur, this Samsung model is equipped with a number of special features to reduce these problems when displaying fast movement.
Sharp, crisp images are guaranteed with the Samsung LN46B650. This model has a super fast 4 millisecond response time. With Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus frame interpolation technology, with a refresh rate of 120Hz combined, viewing action movies, sports or playing video game will seem like real life.
One of my favourite features of this TV is that it has what is called ‘Internet@TV’. This means that you can access content from Yahoo!, YouTube, Flickr and more via your remote control! How Cool is that! It uses either a wired or wireless Ethernet connection (your choice of course) to connect to the net and away you go!
The scrollbar and widget at the bottom of the TV screen will help you to browse all the content, info, entertainment and games at your leisure.
Also included is a 2GB flash memory for your own entertainment, which comes with pre- loaded features which you can update, or change completely buy downloading new or updated programs from Samsung’s website via your Ethernet connection.
Another cool feature of the LN46B650 is that you can play your MP3s and display JPEG/MPEG files on it. Which means you could be checking out your digital photo albums while listening to your Ipod through the 15-watt bottom stereo speaker and the subwoofer. It has 2 USB ports and four HDMI 1.3 ports for connection.
The final and probably one of the most obvious qualities about this model is the ‘Touch of Color’ design it has. Samsung has given this TV a touch of red translucent color around the edges which looks very cool in my opinion. This TV is also Energy Star Compliant, so you’ll be saving lots of money on electricity bills also!

Pondering On Lg Televisions And Possibly Purchasing One Of Them
Considerations pertaining to LG televisions in all their variations mainly revolve around deciding on the kind of LG TV to obtain. Currently, this maker of high-line televisions offers a wide range of flat-panel televisions in a variety of types and styles. True high-definition TVs are among its standard offerings, and in liquid crystal display (LCD) and plasma, for example.
In terms of where LG fits in the market, it definitely is looked at as one of the higher-quality electronics makers on the market today. It is well-known throughout Europe and has made great inroads over in this country over the last several years. Most models of televisions offered by LG come with rock-solid and extremely high-technology components and builds, as a matter of fact.
For those into liquid crystal display TVs (more properly called TFT-LCD, for thin film technology, LCD), LG has models available in standard high-definition (720) or “true” high-definition (1080p, 1080i). 1080 models, of course, can cost a bit more money than 720, which is a bit of an older technology when it comes to screen display quality.
LCD television has a great many advantages of old-style CRT (cathode ray tube) televisions, which are actually based on 70 or 80-year old technology at heart. Imagine a 22-inch CRT-type television and then compare it to a 22-inch LCD TV. The LCD unit will present a sharp, high-definition picture, will be compact and will be very light in weight and easy to move around
LG televisions are also offered in plasma models which are as good as LCD TVs (or better, in certain cases) in presenting super-sharp high-definition displays. A plasma model weighs more than an LCD model of the same size, but plasma has a number of display and picture advantages that an LCD doesn’t. It’s more a matter of preference and what one’s looking for in high-def TVs, for the most part.
In terms of price when it comes to an LG LCD television versus an LG plasma screen TV, the LCD will cost less at almost every screen size. Plasma generally is excellent at the really large sizes (42 inches and above) while LCD has the advantage in portability. LG TVs with LED backlighting along the edges are also extremely slim, and an LG model has a certain cachet that comes with it.
By now, it should be evident that LG televisions are of the highest quality, and it’s easy to see why this quality television maker has made many inroads into the consumer electronics market here in this country. For sure, the TVs it offers are known to be of high quality and come in a great many styles, sizes and types such as plasma and LCD.

Find TVs That Fit Your Budget
Buying a new TV can be a very frustrating experience. There are just so many to choose from and it can be hard to decide which is the best for you. With all of the new technology out now, there are several things that you will need to learn about before you can really decide. Once you know the difference between the TVs, you will have a better idea of what type you will want to buy for your home.
There are no more analog signals that are being transmitted these days. There are only digital signals. For this reason, all TVs that you can buy are HDTV or at least digital capable. This is great because you will get a lot better picture. It will be more clear than the older TVs that we all grew up with.
Deciding on the size of TV that you want to buy can be easy if you just know a few things. First, you will need to know how large the area is that you will be placing the TV and you will also need to know where you will be viewing it from. It needs to be in proportion.
If you are on a limited budget then you need to learn how to get the best value for your dollar. You don’t want to buy a TV that will fall apart right after you buy it, though. You will still want to buy quality for less money. One of the best ways to do this is to buy your new TV on the internet.
If you are financing your new TV then you will need to figure out what type of payment you can afford. Make sure that you stay within your budget so that you do not overspend. Once you know what price range you should be looking in, the rest is a lot easier. You will now know what TVs you can look at.
The space that you put your TV is very important. It would be terrible to buy a TV that just will not fit in your home. You will not only be wasting your time but you will become even more frustrated during the process. If you measure where you want the TV to go then you will be able to pick the right TV for your home.
Once you have an idea of what you are looking for, it will be much easier to decide on the television that you will be putting into your home. Just go online and try and find the best deal that you can. Make sure that you stay within your budget and you should be very happy with your choice.

The Panasonic TX-P42X10 TV - An Initial Review
The Panasonic TX-P42X10 is one of the latest flat screen televisions from Panasonic. Although only a step above Panasonic’s range of entry level large flat televisions, this has some respectable additions and features that you would often only find with more expensive TVs. It is also a plasma screen rather than an LCD.
With a wide screen aspect ratio and 42 inches viewing size, the TX-P42X10 is about as big as you would want for watching movies. Although slightly bulkier than other televisions of its size, it does come with a wide array of features which make it a very attractive option if you are considering buying a decent quality centrepiece for your new home cinema system.
Most notably, the Panasonic TX-P42X10 has a refresh rate of 100 Hz. Most competing screens only have a refresh rate of half of that but if this doesn’t mean anything to you, basically 100 Hz means there is going to be a lot less flickering. To put it simply, the higher refresh rate, but the higher the potential frame rate meaning that it’ll be easier on your eyes and playback will appear a lot smoother.
One thing of note which may be off putting to some people, is at the Panasonic TX-P42X10 is not full HD. This means that it does not have the highest resolution to allow playback of the latest in high definition content of its native resolution. Rather, the screen is actually HD ready but in all honesty, many viewers will not even noticed the difference with a slight lack of resolution. Instead, quality is more important and this screen certainly has good picture processing techniques to compensate.
With some attractive options when it comes to picture processing techniques, the TX-P42X10 helps to minimize flicker and keep a really smooth image. It also includes Panasonic’s revolutionary technology which allows the screen to adapt to its surroundings. Depending on the ambient light in the room, the screen will adjust its settings automatically which makes the screen wonderfully versatile, allowing you to use it just about anywhere in the house and get the most out of it.
Panasonic is also well known for adding a few useful and very welcome extras to their screens. Although it might not sound like much at first, one very handy and welcome bonus on the Panasonic TX-P42X10 is the SD card reader. This will enable to you by you all your pictures from your digital cameras memory card straight on the screen.
The TX-P42X10 also has some pretty impressive built in audio capabilities but to be honest, if you are spending this sort of money on a screen, you probably want to upgrade to a decent surround sound speakers system anyway which are render the built in speakers obsolete. Nonetheless, it is a welcome addition if you are short on space.
The Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10 performs pretty well all round. It has all the features you would expect and providing the price is reasonable, it is a great choice and definitely considerably better than many competing products so it is worth consideration.
