Frbiz.com Reports China Unicom Bullish On IPhone Sales
China Unicom, the nation’s second largest cell phone carrier, said it expects nearly 10 percent of the third generation (3G) users in the country to switch to Apple Inc’s iPhone in the next couple of years.
Tian Wenke, general manager of corporate business department of China Unicom, said that the smartphone has already evoked good interest from business users. “We expect nearly 10 percent of China’s 3G users to buy iPhones,” Tian said at an industry forum in Hangzhou.
The number of 3G users in the country is expected to reach 16.2 million by the end of next year, according to figures from research firm Wireless Intelligence. Li Yizhong, minister of the industry and information technology, had earlier said China plans to have around 240 million 3G users by 2012. On Tuesday China Unicom Chairman Chang Xiaobing said he expects iPhone to become China’s best-selling smartphone.
Unicom was reported to have sold fewer iPhones than analysts’ expectations after its debut last month, raising concerns that the high prices may deter customers from buying the smartphone.
According to the company, an iPhone without a service contract costs as much as 6,999 yuan ($1,025) in China, compared with $299 in the United States. The product will be free when customers select a two-year service plan that costs 886 yuan per month.
The company had signed up only 5,000 iPhone users after the first two days of its debut last month. In comparison, nearly 1 million units of the smartphone were sold in the first three days when the latest model was launched in North America and Europe in June. China Unicom also feels that if it were to price the iPhone lower, then users would buy the handset, but run it on the network of its rival carrier China Mobile, which has a nearly 70 percent share of China’s mobile market.
An analyst from one of the world’s biggest market trackers feels that sales of iPhone are expected to touch 60,000 to 70,000 in China this month. He expects iPhone to account for nearly 5 percent of China’s smartphone market by next year. “But the product’s further growth will be largely limited due to China Unicom’s high pricing,” said the analyst, who declined to be named.
Since its debut in 2007, iPhone now has a 17.1 percent share of the global smartphone market in the third quarter of this year, according to research firm Gartner. That makes it the third largest cellphone provider after Nokia and Blackberry maker Research In Motion (RIM). China Unicom had 1.02 million 3G subscribers as of the end of October, the company’s Hong Kong-listed arm said in a regulatory filing on Nov’.

Groovin’ Blocks Brings Clubbing To The iPhone
Looking to add another match-three puzzler to your iPhone app collection? “You can’t be serious,” you ask. These days, the iTunes App store is brimming over with match-three misfits. Most would hardly see a reason for the addition of another one. Yet, Groovin’ Blocks is enough of a stand out to justify its existence. Zoo Games is marketing Groovin’ Blocks as more of a jam session than a regular puzzle game. After a successful spin as a Wiiware title, Groovin’ Blocks hits the iPhone screen in full force.
Spending some time with Groovin’ Blocks is like hittin’ up your favorite clubbin’ scene. OK, enough with the apostrophes. Seriously, if you’re a fan of techno beats and pulsating lights you’ll probably like this app. Yet, if rhythm is its soul, puzzling is its heart. Laid out in a Tetris-like format, players are made to arrange stacks of colored blocks within an empty room. Matching touching colors of three or more eliminates those blocks, freeing up space for those jiving on down from above. Building off this idea, Groovin’ Blocks introduces multipliers and powerups into the mix. Multipliers are obtained by hitting the down arrow simultaneous to a beat vibe scrolling in from both sides of the screen. When a multiplier is activated, it remains active as long as the player continues to nail beats when dropping block into place. Powerups are awarded as blocks with special power symbols on them are place with a beat. Some powerups increase the value of nearby blocks while others explode blocks around the powerup holder.
Groovin’ Blocks includes 50 levels which are arranged by songs. Locked levels are opened by reaching scoring achievements with matches, power-ups and multipliers. Casual, Experienced, and Hard difficulty levels can be selected in the playing arena. Each track has a happy / trippy feel while being quite different from the last. An easily navigated user interface is presented but we wished the instruction boxes were a little more flushed out looking. While no online scoring system is yet available, we guess Zoo Games will add one soon.
Certainly, Groovin’ Blocks is no off-the-shelf match three puzzle title. It truly has Tetris on the brain, but pulls off enough originality to set itself apart from the crowd. At its current selling price of $1.99, we highly recommend Groovin’ Blocks for anyone who wants to bust a move while solving a few puzzles along the way.

Go Clubbing With Groovin’ Blocks On Your iPhone
Looking to add another match-three puzzler to your iPhone app collection? “You can’t be serious,” you ask. These days, the iTunes App store is brimming over with match-three misfits. Most would hardly see a reason for the addition of another one. Yet, Groovin’ Blocks is enough of a stand out to justify its existence. Zoo Games is marketing Groovin’ Blocks as more of a jam session than a regular puzzle game. After a successful spin as a Wiiware title, Groovin’ Blocks hits the iPhone screen in full force.
Memories of your favorite dance club will flash before your eyes while playing Groovin’ Blocks. Fans of pulsating lights and techno beats will find themselves at home with this app. Rhythm is its soul and puzzling is its heart. In Tetris fashion, players are challenged to align blocks according to color in an empty room. Matching three or more blocks of the same color eliminates them and frees up space for the onslaught of blocks dropping from above. Soon into gameplay, multipliers and power-ups are introduced into the mix. Multipliers are activated by lining up block placement with scrolling vibes entering from the sides of the iPhone screen. These remain in effect until a beat is missed. This process is enhanced when blocks the special markings enter the fray. Dropping these blocks into place with the beat grants a power-up that can increase the value of surrounding blocks.
50 levels are included in the game, all being arranged by songs. The goal to open locked levels is to reach certain scoring achievements through matches, powerups and multipliers. When entering the playing arena, the choice of difficulty is presented — either Casual, Experienced, or Hard. Each song is noticeably different from the last and all seem to have a happy, yet trippy, Nintendo feel to them. The UI is easy enough to navigate but we would like to see more flushed-out text box graphics. They seem too default gray looking. No online scoring system is available as of yet but we think Zoo Games will probably add one soon enough.
Groovin’ Blocks is no ordinary match-three puzzle game. While being Tetris-like at its core, this title offers surprises and interesting gameplay that is will stand above the crowd. Currently selling for $1.99, Groovin’ Blocks is an app we recommend you pick up is you like busting a move during your hectic day.

Mobile Phone Screen Protector
Mobile phones are now an essential part of our lives. They have now become especially useful in our busy schedules, make our lives easier and, for gadget lovers, more fun too.
How many mobile phones have you possessed that were knocked, scratched and dropped? A mobile phone screen protector is an often overlooked, but very useful, accessory. Take good care of them, protect them from wear and tear, and your mobile phone will continue to look good, work well, and keep it’s value.
Screen protectors are usually made of clear plastic. One side is adhesive which sticks on to the mobile phone’s screen, stopping finger nails, grit and the like, from damaging the viewing area.
Maybe your mobile phone came with a screen protector? The stock screen protector is often a simple thin plastic, which does not stick well and degrades the screen image. You will also find that stock screen protectors curl away from the surface and collect dirt.
If your mobile phone has a touch screen or requires a stylus, your device is even more prone to damages. Just one slip of a fingernail or an accidental slide across a table can leave a long scratch which will prevent the stylus from running across the surface evenly. Leaving your device more difficult to use and with an unsightly scratch across the viewing area.
Aside from scratches, you also need to protect the mobile screen from smudges, dust and lint. Sometimes, wiping the screen with a lint-free cloth isn’t enough, the dust maybe gone but the screen protector becomes blurry. The best solution to this is to get the brand of mobile phone screen protector that is washable and removable. This brand may cost more than the other brands but is definitely worth it because this one comes with a mobile phone back protector as well. So the screen and the back of your phone are both protected.
There are may mobile phone accessories. Most are of little purpose. A mobile phone screen protector is a great investment which will keep your phone clean, free from scratches and looking great in public.

EA’s Rock Band Shreds it on the iPhone
Everybody across the world has been experiencing Rock Band fever for the last few years. The game has a new version in the App Store and EA has made sure it’s a winner. Made for the iPhone, Rock Band brings fantastic graphics, multiple tracks and, just-right controls to the small screen.
Rock Band offers three modes of game play: Quick play brings 15 built-in tracks to your fingertips; World Tour takes you through a fun-filled trip to multiple cities; lastly, Multiplayer allows a meet up with friends online or over Bluetooth and rock it out party style. Tracks are arranged according to difficulty level. While some songs are pretty easy, others reach a range or practically impossible. After a song is picked, players can select the instrument that they want to play with. Drums, bass, guitar, and vocals are all present to choose from. Every song has its own difficulty levels (easy, medium, and hard) and tapping challenges increase relatively. Players will travel throughout the world in World Tour mode. Boston is initially unlocked while New York, Seattle, Paris and Moscow will need to be unlocked as the tour progresses. If players have a Facebook ID, Leaderboards are available to peruse. Online play gives an experience for multiple players who can play the same song using different instruments, although not at the same time. Once each player completes the track, their respective scores will be combined to create a final score. Bluetooth grants a real-time multiplayer experience which is a lot more fun. Achievement statistics are accessible in the World Tour menu.
All the visuals in Rock Band are great even though the iPhone has a smaller screen. When bass or guitars are played with, players need to tap on pick-shaped spots on as notes pass over them. Notes travel down a vertical fretboard. Drums are slightly different since they present drum-shaped objects for tapping. Vocal play still involves tapping but this time on a horizontal scale. Swiping the screen at the right time takes the game into overdrive. If players miss taps the music will go out of tune and unpleasant pick scratches or drumstick sounds will begin. Missing notes in vocal mode will stop the song altogether. The upper part of the iPhone screen is reserved for band animations during playback.
In the audio department, Rock Band shines as much as it does visually. Included are 20 CD-quality songs from the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joan Jett, Smashing Pumpkins, Blink 182, Foo Fighters, Motorhead, All-American Rejects, and more. In-app purchases are present with the ability to buy more songs in pairs for $0.99. All the controls worked perfectly as expected in our experience with the game.
Rock Band offers great replayability as its super difficult to make it through any of the songs without missing a tap or two. This game is simply a blast too! Now, we must say there are similar titles in the App Store like the Tap Tap Revenge series and Guitar Rock Tour. Yet, neither of these have the fullness that Rock Band seems to capture. Additionally, they are all a little too forgiving in our opinion. If you are looking for the most demanding tapping experience, Rock Band is our AppSmile team choice. With a $9.99 price point, Rock Band will set you back more than the competition. Yet, it’s definitely worth the extra cash. Rock Band is a hard rockin’ app that shouldn’t be overlooked!

Using A Bluetooth Earpiece In An Workplace Environment
Using a bluetooth device have moved beyond it’s original purpose which was to provide pilots with a means of communication. It has also moved beyond the purposes that most people use which is to accessorize mobile phones. It is not unusual today to find that many office employees are wearing a bluetooth earpiece as part of their job.
The bluetooth headset provides excellent audio quality for any type of equipment that is going to be within 33 feet of the user. Most people are familiar with bluetooth headsets only for their mobile telephones but there are many other places where bluetooth headsets are a part of the daily routine.
Using the headset allows one to perform many tasks that would normally need to be scheduled for specific times of the day. An individual may be talking to a customer using a bluetooth earpiece while they are filing or performing other office functions.
Using a bluetooth device it was possible to expand the position of a receptionist beyond the minimum space that was allowed for them to quickly answer a phone. The bluetooth allows receptionists to assume other work duties and perform them while simultaneously being able to answer a telephone.
Having the ability to continue a conversation with a customer while retrieving the information necessary to answer a question greatly increases customer service. The additional ability to answer a phone from a distance makes the need to sit at a desk in a reactive posture unnecessary. Now staff can be performing other functions and answering the phone at the same time.
The adaptability of the ear pieces that accompany the bluetooth earpiece allow all workplace staff who are wearing them for long periods of time the comfort that they need to concentrate on other aspects of the company. The ear pieces are made of materials which protect the ears of the users and assure that no infection or injury will occur when the headset is worn throughout a work day.
If you are considering buying iphone bluetooth headsets, careful research is required, because not everybluetooth headset is as good as the others. Price may not reflect the actual quality.
